Rude Awaking

A cool breeze floated through the thick summer air making the afternoon heat more enjoyable. It's days like that that I can't stand to be inside. I took my book and laid out by the pool working on my tan, relaxing my tired body and even groggier brain. The wind had stopped blowing long enough to start sweating. I wiggled around a little bit wanting to cool off but not interrupt the chapter I was on in my book. A gust of wind came; I first felt it in my hair and was excited for the relief. Movement caught the corner of my eye . I turned to look but there was no time. The gust of unexpected wind had caught the umbrella and pulled it right out of it's holder. I had no time to shield myself in anyway before it came at me. The wooden edge hit me first and knocked off my all to expensive Oakley sunglasses. The rest of the umbrella slid down my face and hitting my nose rather hard. I was stunned at first. I pushed the green giant back and set it up right again. I picked up and looked over my glasses. Thankfully their was not a scratch on them. I felt a wetness coming from my nose and whipped it away only to realize it was bleeding. I made sure to put the umbrella down before heading inside to get some tissues. My beautiful day out in the sun was rudely interrupted by the crazy green umbrella, but I now know that I shouldn't put it up in the wind.
