Boy have my missed my little blog that no body reads! :) Life sure has been busy these last few months! I've been working at the zoo part-time and doing a ton of studying, which, evidently paid off. I just checked my grades and I got all A's and B's. That hasn't happened in a while! I really loved all of my classes this semester, except for journalism. I am beyond excited for next semester and all of my creative writing classes. I am also taking a catering class for TCEM which I know will be a blast!
I am really enjoying working in the gift shop for the Indianapolis Zoo. I had know idea they put on so many awesome events like ZooBoo (for Halloween) and Christmas at the Zoo which is still going on. I love seeing all of the little kids get excited over the animals and it's awesome when the parents have fun too, but let me tell ya! Some parents are just mean. I get to experience some crazy stuff while I'm working. Like tonight, a little boy came up to my in tears because he got separated from his Dad. I felt so bad for him! He was so scared! I just gave him a hug and found a security guard who later informed me that after about a 15 minute search they found his father. Just before this happened I was walking out to the cart by the dolphins to switch spots with Danielle and an elderly man had fallen face first on the ground! His family called 911 and luckily a guest who was walking by was a firefighter and stopped to help. Thankfully all was well and at the end of the night I, once again, stocked the plushies.
Of course I have to say something about the shootings that took place this morning in Connecticut. You really never know what can happen. This world is crazy and I am SO completely grateful that we have a God who loves us no matter how hard the times are! Living in Indy has been a great experience and I have loved it! But it is an eye opener. On Wednesday a body was found close to campus and everyone was just a little scared to say the lest, but again I am blessed to be able to say that I am not afraid because I belong to the Lord and that's all that really matters.
In just a few days I will be flying to Texas to see my friend Allie! Marie and I are SO SO SO excited! I also get to visit some with Gerrit's sister Laura! I have made some great friends here at school and I will miss them during these few weeks we won't be together 24/7 but it always feels good to catch up with your old friends!
Christmas is drawing near and I can't wait to spend some much needed time with my family, eat real good food, take showers with out shoes on, have a regulated temperature room, and to enjoy all of the love and joy of the season!
