New Things.
My roommate Hannah and I have decided to volunteer at a near by animal shelter. Little did we know that it was the largest shelter in the state housing anywhere between 300 dogs and 200 cats at a time. They also take in egotistic pets like snakes, rabbits, and even horses. I am very excited about this opportunity! I have always loved animals! As many of you know my mom doesn't share the same feelings as I do on this matter. That's completely fine now because volunteering will be a way for me to get my dose of puppy loving with out owning one myself. At some point in time, of course, I will want to get another dog but this suits me just fine. Hannah worked at an animal shelter in her home town so she is just as excited as I am to spend time with the animals. I'm glad I get to share the whole college experience with her! We are getting closer and we have a lot of fun together! Working at the shelter will also be a great stress reliever. I will also be starting my new job at the Survey Research Center this coming week. How exciting! ha Yeah not so much, but its a great place to start and earn a little extra money. As many of you know via Facebook my atricle came out and I finally got to see it! Mom sent me a few copies in the mail and I got them yesterday. It is so exciting to see my name in print! I just want to tell everybody! haha. We also have been attending a really great church! All of us love it! I was sold when I heard the pit band play. I miss my flute and after a little more time I want to find out how I can be involved in it! The first thing Hannah said when we left (after our first attendance) was "I feel like I actually learned something." I have to agree and I know Gerrit does as well. We've gone twice now and we're starting to feel more and more comfortable. I'm really finding my place here and I love it! Even Ball Hall and all of it's grossness (bed bugs and junk) are growing on me. I feel blessed and grown up. Thank you everyone for all your encouragement!
