He picked me up for dinner and opened the door for me and everything. The restaurant was down town and we were about 30 minutes early for the reservation (yes he made a reservation!). I needed khaki pants for my new job at the zoo so we wondered around the mall. Side note: the FFA national convention is this week. They whole city is crawling with those crazy blue jacket kids.
We got to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and I'm not kidding you, it was the fanciest place I'd ever eaten. The servers were OUTSTANDING. So polite and helpful. They had even put rose peddles on our table, knowing that we were celebrating our anniversary. It is interesting being a TCEM major and going to a place like that because we talk about service, restaurants, venues etc. in class. I've been learning about what makes someplace good or bad and what to look for in a quality establishment. The meal we had was sooo good. I had the filet cut, Gerrit had the rib-eye, and as a side (which they serve family style) we had sweet potatoes with brown sugar and pecans on top. SO DELICIOUS. We ate is all. Normally there is left overs when we go out. We both decided we were to full for desert but they brought out chocolate covered strawberries with happy anniversary written in chocolate on the plate. Those were super tasty too!
When it was all said and done we were stuffed. We went for a walk around downtown and around the circle. We looked to good not to take a picture.
On our way back to the truck I overheard a man in front of us say, "Is that guy from AGT?" I told Gerrit what I heard and he freaked out! He ran up to this guy and as it turned out him and his wife were from Americas Got Talent. They were on this past season and made it all the way to the semi finals. It was so weird seeing them on the street. Gerrit follows the show more than I do so he was super excited. Donovan gave him his card and I took a picture. It was so cool. Ha. The link to their Facebook page is down below.
It was a GREAT night spent with an even GREATER man. How lucky did I get?! I mean really! haha.
