Bigger Plan...

So today was our (meaning mine and Gerrit's) IUPUI orientation's. We both learned a lot about what life is going to be like down there. I'm not going to lie it's kind of terrifying... being freshman all over again doesn't really sound like to much fun but this is completely different. For the first time in a long time I feel like God is speaking to me and guiding me through all of these decisions. One of the things that I've considered a sign was when Tate Publishing contacted me wanting to publish my unfinished story. I'm going to "shop around" if you will, for more opportunities with different/better publishers but it's a step. The second sign was when NAW (North American Whitetail) bought my article that will be in print for the October issue. Another sign I witnessed today. During orientation there is a time when you separate into your major groups and hear more about your degree and so on. My major is TCEM (Tourism Convention Event Management) but it's paired with the school of physical education, sports management, stuff like that. I had my hart set on doing the summer bridge program that begins August 6, just so I could learn my way around and everything before school actually started. Of course I was the ONLY one in the room that was going for my major so I felt stupid listening to this whole big thing about personal training and all that jazz. At the end of the session I talked to the lady in charge because I had some major questions (mostly about why I had to sit through all that) but she informed me that she had saved a spot for me in the bridge program. I was so excited! I had been in contact with her before but it's not like she knows me or anything. All she said was that they wanted another TCEM major in the program and she saved it for me! Moral of the story is that I believe it was a sign from God telling me that this is still the path I need to be taking. By the end of the day I decided on a major in TCEM and a minor in Journalism. Success? I think so.
